Health Report HEADACHES ARE MOST OFTEN CAUSED BY NECK PROBLEMS

According to the front page of the “Life” section in the Toronto Star… “Chiropractors were right. Many headaches are caused by damaged structures in the neck – and scientific evidence proves it.”

The article interviewed a Toronto physician, Peter Rothbart, who concludes:

“We have been about to find an anatomical and physiological cause for many headaches. We’ve found damaged structures in the neck, and have gone on to prove they are the cause of the pain.

“We couldn’t believe it at first. We’ve been able to put together a scientific explanation for how neck structure causes headaches…”

In the past, medical doctors have scorned the idea that neck problems cause headaches when it was suggested by chiropractors. But Rothbart says they will accept the anatomical research results.

Rothbart says doctors can check different bones in the neck to identify exactly where the problem is…If it is a structural problem that will respond to spinal manipulation, Rothbart refers the patient to a chiropractor to have it fixed.

Car Air Conditioning Hazard

Do not turn on A/C immediately as soon as you enter the car. Open the windows after you enter your car and turn ON the air-conditioning after a couple of  minutes.

Here's why:  According to a research,  the car dashboard, sofa, air freshener emit Benzene, a Cancer causing toxin (carcinogen - take time to observe the smell of heated plastic in your car).  In addition to causing cancer, Benzene poisons your bones, causes anemia and reduces white blood cells. Prolonged exposure will cause Leukemia, increasing the risk of cancer. May also cause miscarriage.

Acceptable Benzene level indoors is 50 mg per sq. ft.  A car parked indoors with windows closed will contain 400-800 mg of Benzene.  If parked outdoors under the sun at a temperature above 60 degrees F, the Benzene level goes up  to 2000-4000 mg, 40 times the acceptable level...  People who get into the car, keeping windows closed will inevitably inhale, in quick succession excessive amounts of the toxin.

Benzene is a toxin that affects your kidney and liver.  What's worse, it is extremely difficult for your body to expel this toxic stuff.

So friends, please open the windows and door of your car - give time for interior to air out.  Dispel the deadly stuff before you enter.

A Patient’s Testimonial About Spinal Decompression

I suffered low back pain that shot down both legs. It hurt to sit, and I had to give up my golf game.

After one Spinal Decompression session the bruised feeling in my low back decreased dramatically. Now four treatments later, I am able to twist my low back and hips. I am back playing golf about once a week! My low back pain rarely reoccurs, and my golf swing is getting faster. Wish I would have tried Spinal Decompression a year ago!

Before Back Surgery, Consider Spinal Decompression

For some, back surgery may be a viable solution for their condition. Many Doctors now believe that non-invasive alternatives to surgery should be considered.

Some back surgeries have a failure rate of 20-30%. Once a surgery is performed you can’t take it back!

If you still have pain after surgery, Spinal Decompression may offer dramatic relief. Spinal Decompression is non-surgical, and most patients see results in only 3-6 weeks. The Mayo Clinic has seen positive results in about 90% of cases. Contact your Chiropractor or Medical Doctor to see if Spinal Decompression is the right choice for you.

Your Nervous System

Chiropractic is based on the principle that the energy of life flows from the brain through the spinal cord. These energy impulses are then transferred through the spinal nerves to various organs and target areas. Every function of the body is carried out through the nervous system. If this energy flow process is obstructed in any way, the health of your body will be compromised. For example, if the nerves that supply energy to the heart have interference, the heart will start producing inferior heart cells. Over a long period of time, this can lead to a weakened heart and possibly further serious complications. The following seven danger signs are a red flag that may affect the health of your nervous system. They include: headaches, pain of the neck and mid-back, painful joints, low-back pain, pain in the arms or legs, numbness in the hands or feet, and nervousness. Prompt attention may help prevent serious attacks on the body.

The Subluxation Complex

Once you become a Chiropractic patient, you will hear the word “Subluxation” quite frequently.

A subluxation occurs when a joint is knocked out of alignment. This can affect the function of nerves, and have a profound affect on the body’s organs and health.

Your spine consists of 24 bones that are separated by cushions made of cartilage. Nerves pass out from the sides of each vertebra. These nerves supply energy to tissues and organs of the body. If the vertebra becomes misaligned, nerve flow to the body is diminished. This can result in pain and lead the body into a disease process.

The Doctor of Chiropractic will perform an Examination and Consultation to determine if “Subluxations” are present in your body. If subluxations are detected, you will be accepted as a Chiropractic patient.

The treatment of subluxations involves an adjustment of the spine manually. The adjustments are relatively painless and help free up nerve impulses to the body. This will allow the brain to communicate with the body and vise versa. The power that made the body can heal the body.

Health Warning Signals

It is possible to have a cavity in our teeth and not know it. The same holds true for your spine. You may have a subluxation without being aware of it. Here are a few signs that your spine might be out of alignment:

1. One leg is shorter than the other

2. Joints of the body hurt

3. One shoulder is higher than the other

4. A foot is turned in or out

5. Hyperactivity

6. Sinus problems

7. Asthma and Wheezing

8. Frequent colds

9. Colic

10. Scoliosis – lateral bending of the spine

Chiropractic Relief Care

Relief care is defined as the number of Chiropractic adjustments necessary to get rid of your pain symptoms. Each adjustment builds on the prior treatment. Missing or postponing your treatment schedule can interfere with the retraining of your spine. This type of care is the least expensive, and doesn’t require a lot of adjustments. In the majority of cases relief care does not remove the cause of your symptoms. Relief care will give a patient quick relief from their pain symptoms.

Chiropractic Corrective Care

Corrective care is defined as the number of Chiropractic adjustments necessary to get rid of your symptoms and correct the underlying disease. This type of care helps restore normal function, and allows the body to start producing healthy cells. Corrective care entails more treatment, and will cost more then relief care. If you cover up your symptoms with drugs for long periods of time – you will be paralyzing your nervous system. Corrective care will fine tune the nervous system, and allow your body to heal itself.

Health Report Hot Flashes

HOT FLASHES

A CHIROPRACTIC CASE STUDY

The patient revealed that she had been experiencing hot flashes for the past four years. For the previous eighteen months she had used an estrogen patch which reduced the frequency of hot flashes from approximately once every twenty minutes to about four times per day.

During a baseline period of three weeks, the patient kept a daily record of the number of hot flashes she experienced. This practice was continued throughout the period of the study, during chiropractic adjustments.

The patient received eleven chiropractic adjustments. A decline in reported hot flashes occurred consistently throughout the duration of the study. However, a significant decrease from the beginning of the study was not apparent until the period following the second adjustment. During this interval the frequency of the hot flashes dropped significantly by 44%. Subsequent changes over the next nine adjustment intervals revealed significant decreases. The greatest percent decrease (90%) was recorded following the ninth and eleventh adjustments.

In conclusion, the patient went from slightly over four hot flashes a day to almost zero during and after the period of receiving chiropractic treatment.

This study indicates that chiropractic treatment can offer some relief in regards to hot flashes.

While menopause is a natural life event, much of the attendant distress may be avoidable through the correction of vertebral subluxation. Progress in this area could enhance the quality of life for women experiencing this transition.

Wheatgrass VS. Cancer?

Wheatgrass is a highly nutritional food that was discovered by Dr. Ann Wigmore. It contains a large variety of vitamins, minerals, and trace elements. She claims that 15 pounds of fresh wheatgrass has equal nutritional value to 350 pounds of fresh vegetables. Dr. Wigmore also reported that wheatgrass along with living foods has been used to eliminate cancerous growths.

The structure of wheatgrass is very similar to human hemogloblin. Hemogloblin is the oxygen carrying part of the red blood cells.

In anemic animals, their blood count returned to normal in 5 days after wheatgrass therapy, according to one study.

L-Tyrosine For Mood Elevation

L-Tyrosine is an important amino acid that can be used to treat allergies, anxiety and depression. It also aids in function of the following glands: adrenal, pituitary, and thyroid glands.

L-Tyrosine acts as a mood elevator, suppresses the appetite and helps decrease body fat. A lack of tyrosine can cause the body to not produce the hormone norephinephrine. This in turn causes depression, and mood disorders. It has also been used for withdrawal from drugs.

L-Tyrosine is best taken on an empty stomach, and mixed with Vitamin B6. Wait one hour before eating.

Age Spots

Flat brown spots that appear on the skin as the body ages are called age spots. They are a by-product of a waste build-up caused by free radical damage to the skin. Age spots are generally considered harmless, but in reality they are telling you that your body is toxic.

The cause of age spots are: excess sun exposure, poor diet, lack of exercise and poor liver function. B-complex vitamins, Vitamin C, Lactobacillus, and lecithin have been found to slow down the aging process. The herbs licorice, ginseng, and sarsaparilla have also been used to combat age spots.

Chromium For Diabetes

Soil depletion has rendered most of us chromium deficient. Processed food is another cause of chromium deficiency.

New diagnosed diabetics with mild glucose intolerance can benefit from chromium supplementation. Chromium helps to raise the HDL (good cholesterol). This in turn drives out the bad cholesterol.

Chromium is found in oysters, liver, nuts, brewers yeast and potatoes. The refining of sugar depletes chromium.

Is Spinal Decompression The Answer To Your Prayers?

Ok, you have made up your mind! You are sick of always being in pain! It’s your neck, arm, low back, and sometimes your legs that are in pain.

You are tired of taking pills, getting pain injections, and having the constant threat of back surgery! You are probably thinking that life should not be this way? This is the time in life I call a reality check. If you keep doing the same thing, you will get the same results!

I am no longer an Ordained Minister, but I can tell you the verdict is in. In 24 years of being a Chiropractic Physician, I have not seen the results in dealing with chronic pain that I am getting with Spinal Decompression!! It is F.D.A. approved, non-surgical, and the “Big” guys at the Mayo Clinic love it!!

How does Spinal Decompression work?

Spinal Decompression provides relief to severe back and neck pain sufferers by gently reducing the pressure within spinal discs. The bones of the spine are slowly and methodically separated using the state-of-the-art DYNA PRO Spinal Decompression Unit. As the vertebrae are separated pressure is slowly reduced within the disc (intradiscal pressure) until a vacuum is formed. This vacuum “sucks” the gelatinous center of the disc back inside thereby reducing the disc bulge or disc herniation. Significant disc bulge reduction pressure off the spinal nerves and drastically reduces pain and disability. This “sucking” vacuum also pulls much-needed oxygen, nutrients and fluid into injured and degenerated discs allowing the healing to begin.

Zinc and Health

This mineral is used by the body to produce cells and keep you healthy. A primary source of zinc is red meat, but don’t despair, because zinc is found in eggs, nuts, yogurt, grains and cooked oysters.

Alcohol, diuretics, and antibiotics have a detrimental effect on zinc. Taking too much calcium also impairs zinc absorption.

Hair loss, depression, appetite loss, rashes and decreased immune response are all signs of zinc deficiency.

The recommended daily allowance of zinc is 15-30 mg.

Magnesium and Health

Magnesium is a mineral that is involved with over 100 chemical reactions in the human body. Guess what? Seventy-five percent of Americans are deficient in this mineral! Muscles will cramp up quickly if deprived of magnesium. Think that one through athletes.

Magnesium works with potassium to perform its functions. Calcium and magnesium should be taken in a 2-1 ratio for optimal benefits.

Magnesium can be found in the following foods: oatmeal, bananas, yogurt, avocados and baked potatoes. The recommended daily amount of magnesium is 500-1000 mg.
