3 Reasons to Exercise

If you’re looking for motivation to start exercising, look no further.

Boosts brainpower. Studies have shown that aerobic fitness may reduce the loss of brain tissue common in aging. Want to clear your mind? Exercise. Working out also increases energy levels and serotonin in the brain, which helps to improve mental clarity.

Reduces stress. If you’re stressing over your 401k plan and the stability of your current job, then consider hitting the gym. Working out can be a positive distraction, according to WebMD, and can help elevate your mood, keeping depression at bay.

Increases energy. Believe it or not, 30 minutes of exercise in the morning could change your whole day. Studies have shown that endorphins are released into the bloodstream during exercise, making you feel more energized.

More Responsibility, Less RA

Having more stress and responsibility, what researchers call high psychological demands, may make you lose sleep or even feel grumpy, but according to Swedish scientists it also reduces your chances of developing rheumatoid arthritis (RA). But those who have jobs that make them feel “job strain”, a combination of high psychological demands and a low level of control at work, are at a 30 percent higher risk of developing RA.

3 Ways to Fight Fatigue

1. Get a move-on

While it may seem a bit counterintuitive, moderate physical activity actually increases your energy levels. Even something as simple as a brisk walk around the block can be enough to get you out of your couch potato doldrums. In fact, fatigue can be caused by a sedentary lifestyle; the less you move, the more tired you are, particularly when movement is required.

2. Chow Down

Eating the right kinds of food at the right intervals is vital to maximizing energy throughout the day. It all starts with a balanced breakfast, followed by small meals and snacks every two to three hours. Choose low-fat, complex carbohydrates to fuel your body, and avoid foods that can deplete energy stores; sugar and caffeine, though temporary boosts, will sap energy quickly.

3. Stay Balanced

Stress, anger and other types of negative energy can lead to profound fatigue, particularly if you’re losing sleep over it. Obsessing over an irritating co-worker or a personal financial crisis will do little to solve anything, but it definitely will expend valuable mental and physical energy. Whenever you’re stressed or angry, find ways to stay balanced and let it all out productively.

Dr. Bob Talks about Children and Chiropractic

Recent studies show that newborn infants are subjected to spinal trauma during the birth process. Under ideal conditions, it can be a difficult process for an infant that has been developing in the womb. A chiropractic check up for your infant after birth will show if any nerve interference exists. With the active life children lead, a periodic chiropractic check up can detect problems before they have time to escalate.

Robert Mendelsohn, M.D., was one of the most prominent pediatricians in the U.S. In his book, Confessions of a Medical Heretic, he discussed how babies in the hospital were six times more likely to endure distress during labor and delivery. The newborns were eight times more likely to get lodged in the birth canal, and four times more likely to require resuscitation, and thirty times more likely to suffer permanent damage. The chance for infection went up four fold also.

Doctors and researchers are trying to determine accurate ways of measuring damage to infants. It is a known fact that pulling on the neck during delivery can move bones out of place. The damage may not show up immediately, but in some cases it could cause a learning disorder. In one case study, the patients of 200 pediatricians was compared with 200 children that had been adjusted by chiropractors. The children under chiropractic care had less ear infections, lower incidence of tonsillitis, and fewer allergies. They were also less likely to require antibiotic therapy.

My name is Dr. Bob Moulas D.C., and I have been adjusting children for 24 years. The results have been amazing, and I truly love working with children!

Please reply to this blog for a free consultation to discuss the health of your child. Parents you are also welcome to receive care. Everyone needs a clear nervous system, because the whole body is controlled by the nervous system.

Healthfully Yours,

Your doctor can choose from two types of orthotics best suited for your condition.

1. A functional orthotic – is designed to alter the function of the entire lower extremity. This orthotic is made for a foot that does not function properly.

These orthotics are made from a foam mold impression. This will show a 3 dimensional view of the foot in a subtalar neutral position eliminating sublatar joint pronation. They are also recommended for supination to support the plantar fascia, helping to eliminate plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, back and knee pain.

2. An accommodative orthotic – is designed to evenly distribute weight over the entire weight bearing surface of the foot. This reduces stress to prominent areas of the foot.

In more moderate cases of pronation, your doctor may recommend Spine Align Orthotics.

Are You Off Balance?

Your feet are the foundation of your body… and can be a contributing factor to your health problems.

But My Feet Don’t Hurt
Your feet are the foundation of your entire skeleton. If they’re not supported properly, your body will form weaknesses in its skeletal structure. This results in pain and suffering. It’s like a building that will eventually have cracks in its walls if the foundation is not laid properly.

Most of the time, your feet aren’t the weakest point of your skeleton. They don’t hurt… but they will affect other parts of your body that do.

Excessive Foot Pronation and Flat Feet
When your feet strike hard surfaces, like the pavement or floor, they begin to flatten. This action causes the bones in your feet to become misaligned and leads to excessive foot pronation or flat feet. You’ll notice movement of your ankle and the flattening of your arch.

These conditions cause stress on your entire body, starting with your foot and moving up to your ankle, knee, hip joint, pelvis, spine and head. It can also result in a variety of health problems.

Orthotics help correct these problems.
Foot orthotics give you proper support and help restore the natural balance and alignment of your body.
Foot orthotics also help make your spinal adjustments more effective and longer-lasting.

HIGH CHOLESTEROL DIETARY RECOMMENDATIONS

Research suggests that water-soluble dietary fiber is very important in reducing serum cholesterol. It is found in barley, beans, brown rice, fruits, glucomannan, guar gum, and oats. Oat bran and brown rice bran are the best foods for lowering cholesterol. Since fiber absorbs the minerals from the food it is in, take extra minerals separate from the fiber.

Meat and dairy products are the primary offenders because they contain high levels of cholesterol. Coffee, stress, and sustained tension also raise the serum cholesterol. Alcohol, steroids, oral contraceptives, Lasix and other diuretics, and L-Dopa (prescribed for Parkinson’s disease) are a few of the many drugs that elevate blood cholesterol.

No salt, heated fats or supermarket oils should be eaten. Reduce eating red meat, animal products, non dairy creamers, processed or refined foods, white bread, coffee, tea, alcohol, or tobacco. Reduce the amount of fats in your diet, making sure to take in plenty of fiber in the form of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. A good all-around exercise program is important!

Studies reveal that Third World diets, which consist of grains, fruits, and vegetables, yield lower blood cholesterol. In the United States, Finland, and Norway, where people indulge heavily in dairy products and meat, extremely high rates of heart and circulatory disease are present. Even the children in these nations show progressive vascular disease due to hypercholesterolemia (an excess of cholesterol in the blood).

Cream substitutes (nondairy cream), unfortunately, are poor alternatives to cholesterol-heavy dairy products. Many contain coconut oil, which is a highly saturated fat. Soy or almond milk is preferred.

Pure virgin olive oil helps reduce serum cholesterol.
