Stretching 101

I see no disadvantages to stretching – unless, of course, you do it improperly, which is actually easy to do if you don’t know what you’re doing. Here are a few tips to keep in mind before beginning any stretching program:
· DON’T bounce when stretching
Hold your position for the specified time.
· DON’T stretch cold muscles
Always do some type of warm-up for at least five minutes:
jogging in place, walking on a treadmill, light jump rope, etc.
· DON’T overstretch
There should be a little discomfort, especially if you’re not
used to stretching, but it should not be painful.
· DON’T stretch a muscle improperly
If you are not sure of the proper stretch or how to perform
it, always ask for assistance from a professional.

Chiropractic Info

Chiropractors work with the subtle substance of the soul. We release the prisoned impulses, a tiny rivulet of force that emanates from the mind and flows over the nerves to the cells and stirs them to life. We deal with the magic power that transforms common food into living, loving, thinking clay; that robes the earth with beauty, and hues and scents the flowers with the glory of the air.

In the dim, dark distant long ago, when the sun first bowed to the morning star, this power spoke and there was life, it quickened the slime of the sea and the dust of the earth and drove the cell to union with its fellows in countless living forms. Through eons of time it finned the fish and winged the bird and fanged the beast. Endlessly it worked, evolving its forms until it produced the crowning glory of them all. With tireless energy it blows the bubble of each individual life and then silently, relentlessly dissolves the form and absorbs the spirit into itself again.

And yet you ask “Can chiropractic cure appendicitis or the flu?” Have you more faith in a knife or a spoonful of medicine than in the power that animates the universe?????????

Be In The Now

Visualize there is a bank that credits your account each morning

with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day. Every

evening deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use

during the day.

What would you do? Draw out every cent, of course!!!! Each of us

has such a bank. Its name is TIME.

Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it

writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest

to good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no

overdraft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it

burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day's

deposits, the loss is yours.

There is no going back. There is no drawing against the

"tomorrow". You must live in the present on today's deposits.

Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness,

and success!

The clock is running. Make the most of today.

To realize the value of ONE YEAR, ask a student who failed a

grade.

To realize the value of ONE MONTH, ask a mother who gave birth to

a premature baby.

To realize the value of ONE WEEK, ask the editor of a weekly

newspaper. .

To realize the value of ONE HOUR, ask the lovers who are waiting

to meet.

To realize the value of ONE MINUTE, ask a person who missed the

train.

To realize the value of ONE SECOND, ask a person who just avoided

an accident.

To realize the value of ONE MILLISECOND, ask the person who won a

silver medal in the Olympics

Treasure every moment that you have! And treasure it more because

you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your

time. And remember that time waits for nobody.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal tunnel syndrome starts when the Median Nerve gets pinched in the wrist. Pain signals originate in the brain, and then travel down the neck region. They then move down the arm, and manifest in the wrist. In the wrist is a tunnel that allows the nerves to travel through. This tunnel narrows, and impinges upon tendons, ligaments, and the median nerve.

C.T.S. has many causes, and inflammation of the soft tissue is very common. This will crowd the tunnel, and interfere with nerve transmissions. Inflammation in the neck region can also cause C.T.S. The median nerve controls the thumb and fingers, all except the pinky finger. Pain, weakness, and numbness are common complaints in the wrist.

Aspirin, and ibuprofen are commonly used to help decrease the symptoms. Surgery is also recommended in some cases. Chiropractors have good success treating C.T.S. They perform an exam consisting of Orthopedic, neurological tests, followed by x-rays. Treatment consists of  therapy, realingment of the bones, exercise, nutritional supplementation, and bracing of the injured areas. Most case are resolved in 3-6 weeks.

X-mas For Love...............

Christmas is for love. It is for joy, for giving and sharing, for
laughter, for reuniting with family and friends, for tinsel and
brightly decorated packages. But mostly, Christmas is for love. I
had not believed this until a small elf-like student with wide-
eyed innocent eyes and soft rosy cheeks gave me a wondrous gift
one Christmas.

Mark was an 11 year old orphan who lived with his aunt, a bitter
middle aged woman greatly annoyed with the burden of caring for
her dead sister's son. She never failed to remind young Mark, if
it hadn't been for her generosity, he would be a vagrant,
homeless waif. Still, with all the scolding and chilliness at
home, he was a sweet and gentle child.

I had not noticed Mark particularly until he began staying after
class each day (at the risk of arousing his aunt's anger, I later
found) to help me straighten up the room. We did this quietly and
comfortably, not speaking much, but enjoying the solitude of that
hour of the day. When we did talk, Mark spoke mostly of his
mother. Though he was quite small when she died, he remembered a
kind, gentle, loving woman, who always spent much time with him.

As Christmas drew near however, Mark failed to stay after school
each day. I looked forward to his coming, and when the days
passed and he continued to scamper hurriedly from the room after
class, I stopped him one afternoon and asked why he no longer
helped me in the room. I told him how I had missed him, and his
large gray eyes lit up eagerly as he replied, "Did you really
miss me?"

I explained how he had been my best helper. "I was making you a
surprise," he whispered confidentially. "It's for Christmas."
With that, he became embarrassed and dashed from the room. He
didn't stay after school any more after that.

Finally came the last school day before Christmas. Mark crept
slowly into the room late that afternoon with his hands
concealing something behind his back. "I have your present," he
said timidly when I looked up. "I hope you like it." He held out
his hands, and there lying in his small palms was a tiny wooden
box.

"Its beautiful, Mark. Is there something in it?" I asked opening
the top to look inside. "

"Oh you can't see what's in it," He replied, "and you can't touch
it, or taste it or feel it, but mother always said it makes you
feel good all the time, warm on cold nights, and safe when you're
all alone."

I gazed into the empty box. "What is it Mark," I asked gently,
"that will make me feel so good?" "It's love," he whispered
softly, "and mother always said it's best when you give it away."
And he turned and quietly left the room.

So now I keep a small box crudely made of scraps of wood on the
piano in my living room and only smile as inquiring friends raise
quizzical eyebrows when I explain to them that there is love in
it.

Yes, Christmas is for gaiety, mirth and song, for good and
wondrous gifts. But mostly, Christmas is for love.

The Most Important Faith

The most important faith
is believing in yourself.
No matter what else you have inside you,
you also have the essence of creation
in your brain.
Trust that it is there
and you can encounter it.
You can experience creation in your life,
and you can overcome your limits
and achieve your dreams.
Trust your brain and cheer it on,
and it will work for you.
Your brain responds to your expectations.
What dream will you have faith in?
What will you create today?

True Power Comes from Nothingness

Most people think they know themselves well. However, on looking deeply within, they discover that their knowledge could be a delusion. Occupying places within their subconscious world are parts of their character that they cannot do anything about, and different ideas that they cannot do anything about.
To gain power over our lives, we need to truly open our eyes and hearts and look at what has made us fearful and what has robbed us of our confidence. The causes are hidden within us. Such influences inside us vanish completely once they are discovered and revealed.
This process of revelation is a process of becoming Nothingness—the Source of deep love and genuine creation. It is going to a zero point and encountering your own divinity—your true self.
But it can only be accomplished with sincerity and devotion. The many thoughts and emotions we have that have lost sincerity and devotion will harm us and others. On the other hand, thoughts and emotions that emerge from our deepest sincerity are truly valuable, precious, and beautiful. If we sincerely take the time to meditate and look inside of ourselves truthfully and regularly, we can purify everything inside of us until we are only left with our divinity. Sincere devotion is something that grows and seeps out from deep inside our hearts, and it is what protects and upholds our divine nature.
