Stretching 101

I see no disadvantages to stretching – unless, of course, you do it improperly, which is actually easy to do if you don’t know what you’re doing. Here are a few tips to keep in mind before beginning any stretching program:
· DON’T bounce when stretching
Hold your position for the specified time.
· DON’T stretch cold muscles
Always do some type of warm-up for at least five minutes:
jogging in place, walking on a treadmill, light jump rope, etc.
· DON’T overstretch
There should be a little discomfort, especially if you’re not
used to stretching, but it should not be painful.
· DON’T stretch a muscle improperly
If you are not sure of the proper stretch or how to perform
it, always ask for assistance from a professional.

Chiropractic Info

Chiropractors work with the subtle substance of the soul. We release the prisoned impulses, a tiny rivulet of force that emanates from the mind and flows over the nerves to the cells and stirs them to life. We deal with the magic power that transforms common food into living, loving, thinking clay; that robes the earth with beauty, and hues and scents the flowers with the glory of the air.

In the dim, dark distant long ago, when the sun first bowed to the morning star, this power spoke and there was life, it quickened the slime of the sea and the dust of the earth and drove the cell to union with its fellows in countless living forms. Through eons of time it finned the fish and winged the bird and fanged the beast. Endlessly it worked, evolving its forms until it produced the crowning glory of them all. With tireless energy it blows the bubble of each individual life and then silently, relentlessly dissolves the form and absorbs the spirit into itself again.

And yet you ask “Can chiropractic cure appendicitis or the flu?” Have you more faith in a knife or a spoonful of medicine than in the power that animates the universe?????????

Be In The Now

Visualize there is a bank that credits your account each morning

with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day. Every

evening deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use

during the day.

What would you do? Draw out every cent, of course!!!! Each of us

has such a bank. Its name is TIME.

Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it

writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest

to good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no

overdraft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it

burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day's

deposits, the loss is yours.

There is no going back. There is no drawing against the

"tomorrow". You must live in the present on today's deposits.

Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness,

and success!

The clock is running. Make the most of today.

To realize the value of ONE YEAR, ask a student who failed a

grade.

To realize the value of ONE MONTH, ask a mother who gave birth to

a premature baby.

To realize the value of ONE WEEK, ask the editor of a weekly

newspaper. .

To realize the value of ONE HOUR, ask the lovers who are waiting

to meet.

To realize the value of ONE MINUTE, ask a person who missed the

train.

To realize the value of ONE SECOND, ask a person who just avoided

an accident.

To realize the value of ONE MILLISECOND, ask the person who won a

silver medal in the Olympics

Treasure every moment that you have! And treasure it more because

you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your

time. And remember that time waits for nobody.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal tunnel syndrome starts when the Median Nerve gets pinched in the wrist. Pain signals originate in the brain, and then travel down the neck region. They then move down the arm, and manifest in the wrist. In the wrist is a tunnel that allows the nerves to travel through. This tunnel narrows, and impinges upon tendons, ligaments, and the median nerve.

C.T.S. has many causes, and inflammation of the soft tissue is very common. This will crowd the tunnel, and interfere with nerve transmissions. Inflammation in the neck region can also cause C.T.S. The median nerve controls the thumb and fingers, all except the pinky finger. Pain, weakness, and numbness are common complaints in the wrist.

Aspirin, and ibuprofen are commonly used to help decrease the symptoms. Surgery is also recommended in some cases. Chiropractors have good success treating C.T.S. They perform an exam consisting of Orthopedic, neurological tests, followed by x-rays. Treatment consists of  therapy, realingment of the bones, exercise, nutritional supplementation, and bracing of the injured areas. Most case are resolved in 3-6 weeks.
